Nafeesah – Founder of The Henna Realm

I’m Nafeesah, a henna artist, engineer-turned-creative, and a lover of all things natural. Born and raised in Mauritius, my journey with henna began at the age of 8, where Eid and wedding celebrations were filled with the rich scent of fresh henna and intricate designs crafted by my mother and cousins. What started as childhood fascination turned into a passion that followed me through life.

With a degree in Chemical & Environmental Engineering, I naturally found myself experimenting with henna, refining my own organic, handmade paste after learning about the harmful effects of chemical alternatives. My approach blends science, tradition, and artistry, ensuring a beautifully staining and completely natural henna experience.

Now based in Melbourne, I offer henna services, workshops, and natural henna products, creating a space where art meets mindfulness. To me, henna is more than just an adornment—it’s a form of self-expression, a therapeutic ritual, and a connection to culture and creativity.

When I’m not mixing henna or drawing intricate patterns, I’m embracing motherhood with my two little girls, studying Classical Arabic, and immersing myself in nature. I believe in slow, sustainable living and bringing the ancient art of henna into the modern world with intention and care.
